Winter Walk Announces New Central Park Location for its 2025 Walk to End Homelessness

Walk Event Will Be Held at the Naumburg Bandshell on December 7, 2025

New York, NY – [September 15, 2025]Winter Walk Inc., a non-profit on a mission to end homelessness in America, has announced a new location - Central Park, at the Naumburg Bandshell - for its 3rd annual Winter Walk to end homelessness in New York City. Winter Walk unites thousands of donors and walkers each year to fund local nonprofits, raise awareness, end stigmas and change lives. Winter Walk’s unique model builds community for housed and unhoused people by bringing a variety of service providers to one place in celebration of community unity. The move to such a prominent location represents a major growth milestone in NYC Walk attendance, and in its mission to grow a national movement.

“At a time when homelessness is increasing at a rapid pace and federal funding is being cut, the needs of our organizational partners are becoming increasingly urgent, ” said Paulina Kusiak Daigle, Executive Director of Winter Walk. “100% of the funds raised at our 2025 NYC Walk Event will be distributed directly to non-profits providing care to the unhoused people of New York City, so I urge anyone that is able to walk with us or donate to consider doing so to help their neighbors in need .”

Each walk event is a community-driven initiative aimed at raising funds for organizations serving homeless populations in the host city. This year’s event in Central Park will bring together New Yorkers from all parts of the city to walk shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with their unhoused neighbors, raise awareness, and support organizations working on prevention, support, and care for those experiencing homelessness.

In 2025, 100% of the proceeds raised at Winter Walk’s New York  walk event will be distributed to The Bowery Mission, Capuchin Franciscans Province of St. Mary, Help USA , and New Destiny Housing.

“Walking together, housed and unhoused, is a reminder that homelessness can touch anyone,” said Dan Lehman, HELP USA President & CEO. “For 40 years, HELP USA has been on a mission to ensure that every person has a safe, stable place to call home. We invite you to walk with us and support our efforts to end homelessness for all.”

“Winter Walk provides an opportunity for everyone - kids, adults, people with mobility issues, even people that have or are currently experiencing homelessness - to take action and do something to end it,” said Meag Shaffer, Chief of Staff, Marketing and Development at Winter Walk. “This walk is not just about raising funds; it’s about building a community that is focused on ending the homelessness crisis, and walking in solidarity to generate awareness of the need for action .”

Participants are encouraged to reach out to family, friends, and coworkers and invite them to join the event by registering online. The walk will begin at 10:00 a.m., with all funds raised directly benefiting local organizations providing essential services for the homeless community.

Winter Walk believes that ending homelessness is within our reach, if we come together.. Through collective action, advocacy, and by supporting local organizations that are on the front lines, we can create lasting change and ensure that no one is left behind. Anyone interested in participating in a walk event in New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia or Tallahassee – or creating their own grassroots walk event in their own city or town – can register on the site at www.winterwalk.org.
